Error: The Chink In The Armor

First, there is a reason why God tells us that in all of our getting, get understanding (Proverbs 4:7 AMP). The most important thing to know that everything God tells us is for edification, exhortation, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3 AMP). He told us He would never leave us comfortless. He is our provision, our refuge, our fortress, and shield. He has called us to peace. He tells us over and over again to fear not (Isaiah 41:10 AMP). He says to be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6-7 AMP). All of this is in everything as we continue our journey in whatever He has called us to do....this is included in business practices, social cues, and most assuredly in relationships.

Keeping the aforementioned in mind, I heard a pastor of a well known church tell the congregation the definition of insanity. Having been a follower of this ministry for years, I was always eager to hear a fresh Word from God through him. He proceeded to give the definition as "continuing to do the same thing while believing for different results." Whenever there is a message with no scripture to support it, the rest of the sermon is arrested because it's causing trouble within to make sense of it. Oddly enough, this manufactured definition spread like wild fire throughout social media and in some aspects of regular programming. People were looking well pleased with themselves probably thinking that when it came from them, it sounded intelligent and more than likely something that would be remembered. Yet, if the Word is not studied to counteract what was said, then it will infiltrate other aspects of your life of which you thought were solid (1 John 4: 5-6 AMP).

You see if I left it alone, looking pretty and all tied up in a bow with those saying that it was an on time Word, than those younger would incorporate it as well. However, the actual Word of God says, "be not weary in well doing for in due season you shall reap the reward (Galatians 6:9 KJV)." The actual Word of God says, ...you have been faithful with a few, I will make you ruler over many...(Matthew 25:23 KJV)" The actual Word of God says, "...allow for patience to have her perfect work in it's entirety wanting nothing....(James 1:3-5 KJV)" Where does that definition for insanity fit here? But what does happen is that error can make a crack that causes the armor to be inefficient. Error can cause for a fiery dart to burn the entire house down. Error can cause discord and animosity where there wasn't originally (1 John 4:6 AMP). Can you see the importance in studying the Word for yourself (2 Timothy 2:15 AMP)? Do you see how the smallest of foxes can spoil the vine?

In having the whole armor on, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, loins girded about with truth, feet are shodded with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and the sword (the Word of God) we are prepared for battle (Ephesians 6:11-17 AMP). We can stand against the fiery darts of the wicked and walk in the midst of turmoil and it shall not touch because we have been prepared. It is why the entry in this blog, Slim Pickn's is so prevalent. For the world it means a time of desperation because all of the good ones in that age group are almost all gone. For the believer, it is a great time because you can see through all of the pretenders and those with less than sincere intensions. But if you start believing more so in your biological clock ticking away (ladies) or being too old to play with your children (men) then something in your armor has been breeched. Get ready for trials and tribulation.

God is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 KJV). God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV). Incorporating trendy

jingles that sound good but actually oppose the Word is a daily challenge. There was a woman showing on Instagram her sitting in her car listening to the old school music from back in the day. The melody and lyrics takes you back when life was simple and you were a child playing on the playground and running with your friends having fun (1 Corinthians 13:11KJV). As she was snapping her fingers and smiling at some childhood memory, she heard the words as if for the first time. One of the songs spoke about committing adultery. Another song was about prostitution. The same thing happened to me going out to dinner and the driver had the radio on. The music was reminding me of my child hood, then I heard the singer refer to the love he hoped for was gone all that was left for him to do was end it all. We sang these songs because of the happy melody thinking it was good to dance to...but for God and His mercy, we were spared by speaking those things in existence (Psalms 19:14 KJV). Do you see that?
