Making It Plain

The reality of what the church is as opposed to what it has become, has been disappointing. Watching the wrong things is the cause of trying to find other ways to keep abreast of God's Word; but then, as we all do, the recollection of the scriptures force some changes to be made as we continue walking out this journey the best way we know how. How many times have we spoke the wrong things not realizing it is opposing the Word of God? But because it is the trend and most people say it, there can't be anything wrong with that? Right? This has been written in this blog before for us all to watch the words we speak because its like seed sown into ground about to reap a harvest that you can rejoice over or grieve about it later. For instance, if you'd like friends, to count yourself as being friendly ( Proverbs 18:24 KJV ). This is simple to incorporate in your everyday lives. Long before I knew what the word meant, people used to say, "chivalry is dead." No one exclaimed otherwise, so it was assumed to be fine. Let it go. When understanding that it is a good attribute for men to have, there would have been some opposition; but it was too late, People were fine with it being dead...that is, until they need it. At the parking lot of a grocery store, a young man got out of the car and came to the other side to open the door for a young lady. The title of this entry came to me while I was on the couch really watching the sitcom, Mike and Molly for the first time. It was the first season and episode 17; the character of Mike is a police officer. He was sitting in a diner and said the strangest thing to his partner about his new girlfriend, Molly, "I already showed her my A-game when we were dating, now that we are a couple, I don't have the stamina. What does she expect from me?"  Wow! What else is there to say about this? I have had men tell me that I am bashing them and women get all quiet when poignant topics are needed for conversation before the relationship goes too far. For some its the moment you wake up and for others it's in the middle of the day. It's a childhood memory on a Sunday morning, when food wasn't a thought until the smell of coffee and/or sizzling bacon wafting through the air made you get up and get ready for breakfast. It was an automatic reaction. When that feeling comes across your stomach or a warm inviting aroma comes across your nose, it's like a Pavlov experiment.  In fact, marketing strategists uses that lack of discipline to their advantage. There is this since torn down bakery from a large food corporation in Detroit, Michigan that used to make sure the ventilation system had a fan.  This is another myth that has seeped into the church. Whether it was idle gossip, regurgitated sermons that were not prayed upon or researched before serving to the congregation, or just plain ignorance, it is a reason to stir the slurry and find the truth to be set free. Now let’s begin where God saw Adam and said it was not good for him to be alone ( Genesis 2:18 AMP ). The solution that God decided upon was to create woman. Before Michael Jackson used that word (history) for one of his CD sleeves, my mother was given that word by God in a manner that was a message in of itself. History is His story. His; meaning Jesus. We know His history for it is what we have built our faith. He hid nothing yet the mystery The Word speaks of is the search for the Kingdom Life at the ready for those who believe (Mark 4:11 KJV). I have to refer to that pastor I mentioned in previous posts who was teaching on his rules to Christian dating because he couldn't find such things in the scriptures.
