The Good Old Days?

Image
The reality of what the church is as opposed to what it has become, has been disappointing. Watching the wrong things is the cause of trying to find other ways to keep abreast of God's Word; but then, as we all do, the recollection of the scriptures force some changes to be made as we continue walking out this journey the best way we know how. How many times have we spoke the wrong things not realizing it is opposing the Word of God? But because it is the trend and most people say it, there can't be anything wrong with that? Right? This has been written in this blog before for us all to watch the words we speak because its like seed sown into ground about to reap a harvest that you can rejoice over or grieve about it later. For instance, if you'd like friends, to count yourself as being friendly ( Proverbs 18:24 KJV ). This is simple to incorporate in your everyday lives. Yet it would seem there are those that believe without effort, things should just happen. Life should b...

Chivalry

Long before I knew what the word meant, people used to say, "chivalry is dead." No one exclaimed otherwise, so it was assumed to be fine. Let it go. When understanding that it is a good attribute for men to have, there would have been some opposition; but it was too late, People were fine with it being dead...that is, until they need it. The young lady looked at him as if something was wrong until she noticed his elbow held out for her. She smiled, put her hand through the opening and held fast to his arm. My immediate reaction was, "aww!" Not sar...

Preparation

I used to be a seamstress when I was in college trying to make ends meet. I learned that it wasn't the garment I was really trying to sell but all of the small details that made the garment better then what a customer could purchase off the rack. Not only was it custom fitted, it had closed or French seams so the construction of the garment was durable even in the wash. I would add expensive buttons and leather accents when needed. The design would be simple enough but with all of the details, it made the customer come back to see what else I created. That's business. It's what all business owners do to maintain a brand ( Proverbs 6:9-11 AMP ). Should this be any different in a marriage or establishing a relationship for marriage? We already discussed thoroughly how the dating process is more like an interview then anything else. We know that if you become distracted with the dress to impress and all of the flattering words, you lose sight of the whole purpose for the dat...
