Everything That Shines Isn't Always Pure

Writing in these blogs have been therapeutic . As things happen and I react to them (or not), I tend to replay the matter later in my mind thinking whether I could have done or said it in a better way. If so, I write about it. Suffice to state, I have done a lot of writing! Recently, I was thinking about Christians and the things that some have have written as we wait or prepare for the Lord ( Matthew 25:1-13 AMP ). Well, it is what we are supposed to be doing as singles. Yet, instead I read things like: " I am tired of the dating scene. If Mr. Right comes along, he'll have to find me." And the reply to that comment was, "you can't just stay at home. You can't quit. You have to get out there so he can find you." Then the other conceded her comment and agreed with the reply. You'd think that response is exclusive to women? You would be mistaken. Another Christian site that was launched April of this year, began by posting attractive picture...

I was watching this movie where Michael Keaton was the star. I don't know the title of the movie, I didn't watch it all the way through because one of the lines had me thinking about this blog. You see, Michael Keaton's character was married and has one 8 year old son. Keaton has a career as a musician but has other interests as well, one of them being hockey. His son was in a little league hockey team and that night was the big game. Keaton told his son he would be there after the band rehearsed. The band went into over time. The hockey game didn't. When Keaton got home, his wife, played by Kelly Preston, was visibly upset. Though Keaton had no excuse for being late, he went through the gestures while Preston complained. It was apparent that they had a bargain between them that Keaton would never promise their son what he couldn't deliver no matter how hard it was not to make the promise. It was the strange thing she said that made me assume the aforementioned. S...

If I Didn't Ask, I Wouldn't Be Married

The title of this post was a direct quote from a woman who decided to do something different because she was tired of waiting and reconciled with herself that he needed her help even with being proposed to. Well, how long is a woman suppose to wait when her desires are on a handsome single guy, but he is too shy to come over and say, hello? There is nothing wrong with her going over and breaking the ice, as long as he realizes that is all it was; afterwards, he can be the aggressor. Better yet, what is the matter with the woman taking the bull by the reigns? At the very least the job is getting done. I was looking at the animal kingdom, simply for entertainment. I know people are on a much higher heirarchy than animals, its just that God created them first before He created man and then He saw that all of the animals had a partner but man didn't. He then stated that it was not good for a man to be alone (Genesis 2:18 NIV). So, why did God pause, though momentarily, and look at t...

Compatibility

Have we lost sight of the reason 2 people join to marry? Is it for the children born out of wedlock? Is it to please the parents who have waited long enough for their children to get it together and settle down? Is it just for peace of mind so not to stress about the proverbial biological clock or because everyone else is doing it. For all of the those other reasons, what will the overall outcome be? How bright will the future look without all that God says you should have first? I know of someone who has expressed anger at the long wait to be married (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP). This isn't new. Who else just gave in and went down the aisle anyway? How many people live in regret today? It is what I think about that helps with any oppressive thought the enemy tries to tempt me with (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV). Of course I use the Word and having a better understanding of what to apply it to is the added help. If the thought isn't cast down to the obedience of Christ , one ...
