The Sex Addict

Image
It doesn't take rocket science to understand where this is coming from ( James 1:13-15 AMP ). I know we have heard this term, sex addict,  over and over again. Does it have a place in Christianity and should we be sympathetic to those dealing with this condition? I have vaguely mentioned this addiction before in another entry in this blog; however, to focus on the matter entirely never was a desire to do. It seems obvious, as true believers, where this sort of thinking comes from ( Proverbs 23:7 AMP ). Nevertheless, thinking as mentioned, is the reason why many of us get into the situations we have been in and calling them mistakes later or crying out to God for deliverance. If we keep sex where it is suppose to be and not be so cavalier about the matter that is exclusively a benefit of marriage, mistakes and labor pangs cries to God are averted. So to briefly summarize what an addict is, is a person who has allowed an outside substance to take over the chemical makeup and th...

When Does Beauty Fade?

For many of us we take the chance with this verse in the bible because we are so enamored by what we see, we don't realize that love just doesn't work this way - especially for the devoted Christian. If you would recall, God is love and it is impossible to please Him without faith (Hebrews 11:6 KJV). Seeing that faith is the substance we hope for and the evidence not seen, how then can we equate love based on what we see? With this understanding, we can tell that beauty has already faded. The verse had also been taught that beauty fades because of age. But the verse doesn't say that. The lesson is taught based on again not experience but what has been seen. There are many of the elderly that if we saw a picture of what they looked like in their younger years, you couldn't recognize them. The mother of a high school classmate had family pictures on a mantel in her home. When I visited them, I saw the pictures and tried to examine them closer. The classmate's moth...

Who Bought The Cow When the Milk is Free?

It is the question the world has which reasonably makes sense when marriage is the factor as opposed to having pre-marital sex. Reasonably? Yes, we can reason to do whatever and when found in trouble still in complete ignorance and destainable foolishness, justify the reason for doing it. Also notice that past tense was used for having the question because the use of the cow and milk analogy is archaic along with the one about purchasing a car without test driving it or buying a house without having the walk through and the like. Why? Because it isn't difficult to find sex as it once was. Men use to enjoy the chase  and while still running he comes to the realization of his own foolishness. One use to believe this realization was his manhood. Why use to? Well, manhood is defined in different ways now and because in 7 years he will wonder if he still "has it." The "it" is called the "itch" and these days, women have it too. There is no need in definin...
