Making It Plain

Do we know what that means? Yes, God is love and we strive to be more like Him ( Hebrews 12:14 AMP ). Yes, we can recite 1 Corinthians 13 if we have to. Its not a childish question to ask and many of us assume because we see each other in church everyday. While having lunch with a fellow believer and discussing relationships, I was asked if I had read the book about the love languages. I answered that I had not. She then proceeded to tell me vaguely about the material and how much she enjoyed the book. Oddly, I didn't hear one thing she was telling me that remotely mimicked what we know as the truth. I continued to listen to her as she explained what she thought the author was referring to in relationships and dating. It sounded very complicated and something that one would have to really study to make it a part of their life. But that would then mean to relinquish what one knows in Christ...wouldn't it? I have been contemplating about starting a vlog (video blog) on the same premise of Christian Dating. I was so excited about the initial idea I opened two accounts on two different websites for the same ministry. I was just about to get started, when all of sudden there were these thoughts: the camera adds 10 pounds (at least)  how will may face look under the lights  will I need make up and how much?  will I be accepted? what am I going to talk about for 3-5 minutes? will it be poignant? will people understand me? do I sound well? do I talk with my eyes? do I use too many hand gestures? how many times do I say um in a sentence? how long do I pause? do I have a speech impediment? are my teeth white enough? have I studied long enough? And then I laughed counting it all joy ( James 1:2 KJV ). How did I get this far without certain things in place? Where did the idea come from without me praying about it? If there is no peace, I wasn't about to...

For some it is because of choice. Paul thought it good to be single as well. He wrote if you are without a wife don't look to be married (1 Corinthians 7:27-28 AMP). Is it that Paul didn't understand the concept of marriage, the necessity of the institution, or would you believe that he contradicted the very Word he was teaching? God said it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18 NIV). We know that 1 puts 1,000 to flight but 2 puts 10,000 (Deuteronomy 32:30 AMP).
