Its Costly Not Sweating The Small Stuff

As the saying goes, don't sweat the small stuff . It sounds good in theory; yet, the Word tells us that its the little foxes that spoil the vine. That is the real truth. We don't think about it much - truth be told, we disregard the small things altogether, especially when we have our own plans to do this or that. In the arena of Christian dating, our focus is for the purposes of marriage. So when there are itty-bitty things like ...oh, I don't know...uh, ...say like, not knowing what utensil to use at a 4 star restaurant or blowing your nose in a cloth napkin at the dinner table or talking to your date while the movie is going on or texting in the middle of conversation or discussing business instead of being interested in the date or trying to get the cheapest parking spot no matter how far away from the venue or taking out a bunch of coupons to pay for dinner or planning for a date with no car or scratching yourself (jock itch) when meeting the parents or asking inappr...

Compatibility

Have we lost sight of the reason 2 people join to marry? Is it for the children born out of wedlock? Is it to please the parents who have waited long enough for their children to get it together and settle down? Is it just for peace of mind so not to stress about the proverbial biological clock or because everyone else is doing it. For all of the those other reasons, what will the overall outcome be? How bright will the future look without all that God says you should have first? I know of someone who has expressed anger at the long wait to be married (1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP). This isn't new. Who else just gave in and went down the aisle anyway? How many people live in regret today? It is what I think about that helps with any oppressive thought the enemy tries to tempt me with (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV). Dating Basics

Hi, this will be the first of many entries to this blog. The topic of Christian Dating came about looking at the younger generation as a mother,  former Youth Specialist, and eventually Social Worker repeating oneself in the Human Professional field is inevitable. Remembering a childhood who parents were of the generation, "do what I say and don't ask any questions," or recollecting personal instruction (or lack thereof), in my generation - I couldn't be alone. In gathering information and playing around with a manuscript while in the library, a woman passed by the sketches and material seeing the title. She oohed and asked if there was going to be a chapter on co-habitating. Pausing for a moment, where would that fit in Christian dating?
