Making It Plain

I recently drew a poster I thought could be used for a movie advertisement; but upon close observation at the finished illustration , I thought about this deeper then what is in black and white. as many times as the children's story has been told, do we take those lessons and apply them in our Christian lives? This one screams of a moral and Spiritual ethical message. Its not understandable to me as to why I haven't heard it, other then the way the Lord is giving it to me now. Maybe some minister preached this message somewhere and I just wasn't there; this would not be true for you, I plan to keep this blog up for whomever is interested and needs to go back to it. I am using this title to stimulate interest, to be honest, and for the subject matter. It is something that is not usually taught in a large forum of people and practically non-existent in church. Which leads "baby" Christians to do what they see others do that are not in the faith. It makes that Spiritual walk all the more difficult to maintain when "world" values are in place. I don't quite have a handle on why it isn't something talked about in ministry other than old stodgy feelings of embarrassment, different positions that can be difficult to talk about, or the idea if you put a carpet over the pile of mess it will all go away. Its hard to pretend a lump isn't under the carpet when one keeps tripping over it. Just deal with it already! I am going to make this as plain as I possibly can, in the name of Jesus. The Word tells us that we are like trees planted by the rivers of water, that our leaf shall not wither and whatsoever we touch shall prosper ( Psalm 1:3 KJV) . Though this is a metaphor - being like a tree, yet I still can not think about this verse without the verse where Jesus spoke to the woman at the well. He said that He had a drink that she could have where she would never thirst again. Recall that this is only after He told her about what she had been doing with so many men and the man she was with wasn't her husband either. Her personality was that she had an appetite for sexual contact anyway she could get it. It is why she had been with so many men and was with someone else's husband. Back then the laws were is an adulterer was caught, she was stoned to death. She apparently believed her need was greater then being stoned. If its not there when do you expect it to be there ( John 16:13 KJV )? I was just thinking about people getting together because they believe they would have beautiful children. Honestly, while having gorgeous children sounds like everyone's dream - WAKE UP! The two beautiful people will have to raise those children and in order to do that conversation will have to come about. Why have this epiphany after the wedding? It stems from the May/ December relationships as well as those who set the goals of being the perfect Barbie (c)/ Ken (c) couple. Though we can see the stem, where is the root of this mess? It seems, at times, that these blog entries have been blasting specific sermons. Note: its the sermons not the ministers, pastors, teachers, apostles, or bishops administering the message ( 1 Chronicles 16:22 NIV ). I suppose if I were really ignorant in the Word I could listen to just about anything and be influenced to believe that it is the truth simply because a man or woman of God said so, its just that I am not inexperienced in the Word and because of that, I know better ( Ephesians 4:13-15 KJV ). I took the advice of the Holy Spirit in the Word that does tell us to study it day and night then we shall have good success ( Joshua 1:8 KJV ). So I listen and then I recall what the Word does say and then I write about it. Now if there is a minister, pastor, teacher, apostle, bishop, lay person, or anyone else that opposes what I am writing here - please write me back. Many, many times I listen to ministers begin each and every sermon with,"I would like to thank this or that...blah-blah... and I count this being here as an honor and a privilege to minster to you this morning..." And indeed, as I thought about it, it is an honor to be chosen to preach to God's people. God in as much trusts that speaker to say what He has given the speaker to say. This person has studied, prayed and is well equip to say and pray the way God has instructed him/her to do. The speaker has taken his position seriously and is not just saying what he thinks sounds good just to increase CD sales and to get a hefty love offering in the end. He/she is not just pulling at the heart strings of emotion for the majority of the congregation to run around the church and be all out of breath to trick them in believing that the church service was really good only to try to make account of the words spoken and it was all fluff and nothing to sustain them for the week....

I recall in the Autumn months when I used to live in Utah, there was this abandoned apricot orchard that my brother and I discovered. A neighbor suggested that we gathered as much fruit as we can because she was used to canning. She had her son come with us and it was the first time my mother made apricot preserves. But before we actually got the product she instructed us which of the fruit we should pick. We, as children, enjoyed going to the orchard to have our fill of the apricots. We didn't pick the hard ones because experience taught us that the hard ones weren't as sweet and delicious. So we left those. We also learned not to be so tired and reconcile to the fruit on the ground because it was more than likely spoiled or the bugs weren't finished with it. I recall the ick dance when picking those apricots from the ground. I thought it would be easier and they looked fine from the top.
